This week’s Style Spy pick is a European treasure recently completed by architecture firm J. Mayer H., the Metropol Parasol. Featured on Dezeen online design magazine, Metropol is one of the world’s largest and most innovative bonded timber-constructions, creating a lattice canopy over several restaurants, bars, a museum and an open-air plaza in Seville, Spain.

This project was undertaken with the goal of creating a new landmark for Seville, appealing to both tourists and locals. Founded in 1996, J. Mayer H. Architects unique design concepts focus on “the intersection of architecture, communication and new technology” (Architizer). The Parasol is the latest stunning project in their long list of impressive design creations.
