Windsor Smith, Room In a Box, Instyle Magazine
Unleash your inner interior design with a little help from a real design professional!

InStyle Magazine:

“Is it time to starting thinking inside the box? Known for her ethereal, feminine spaces, in-demand Los Angeles interior designer Windsor Smith has come up with an innovative way to offer her expertise at a reduced fee. Room-in-a-Box (http://www.wsroominabox.com) is a virtual decorating service that links Smith’s creativity to your computer. It’s a snap to use: Fill out a 40-question profile (‘What colors do you see in this room?’). Photo graph all four walls and any furniture you want to keep. Measure the space and draw a simple map (the site explains how) and, for inspiration, find a few magazine or internet photos of rooms you love. Once you’ve e-mailed in all of your details, you’ll receive a box six weeks later that contains an illustration, a floor plan, fabric swatches, furniture photos, and buying into. Pieces begin a $900 for a small powder room (up for 50 square feet). ‘You’ll get a design that mirrors the level of work I do for a private client,’ says Smith. ‘Then you can execute any or all of these ideas on your own time and within your own budget.’”
