In Madrid, Spain a very unique bridge has officially opened to the public. Arganzuela Footbridge, a 250-meter structure designed by French architect Dominique Perrault, provides pedestrians and bikers alike a convenient way to cross the river without the bridge supports intruding into the large public park below.

Although the footbridge is enclosed with its tunnel-like structure, open sections of the façade allow light to penetrate through and offers viewing areas to give pedestrians and bikers magnificent sights of the city. With structural pillars at either end, the footbridge appears to float in mid-air, making it one of the most interesting and dynamic structures Madrid has to offer.
